Talisman Metals has commenced the mobilisation of a new drilling programme at its Tirzzit copper project in Morocco.
The company has engaged Geosond Maroc SARL to carry out approximately 3,000m of reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

The work is scheduled to begin in the first week of September and last for nearly six weeks.
The drilling is designed to provide mineralisation data points along the full strike of the basal series previously identified by the company.
Part of the programme will also involve step-out drilling along the projected strike horizon.
Talisman Metals expects to release laboratory assay results towards the end of the drilling period, followed by further results in subsequent weeks as analysis is completed.
The Tirzzit copper project is located 225km east of Agadir and comprises two mining licences covering 16.5km².
It was acquired from a subsidiary of Aya Silver & Gold, a 4.7% shareholder in Talisman.
Historic data from the Moroccan Government’s Bureau of Research and Mining Participations, gathered in the 1970s, indicates previous intersections of 3.16% copper over 2.5m and 0.60% copper over 11.4m.
In May 2026, the company released assay results from channel sampling at Tirzzit.
Channel TZ-CH001 returned 2.65m grading 1.71% copper and 22.25 parts per million (ppm) silver, with mineralisation still present at the channel’s end-point.
Channel TZ-CH003 measured 0.94m at 1.11% copper and 6ppm silver, while channel TZ-CH005 showed an interval of 1.63m at 1.06% copper and 4.25ppm silver.
The project lies 25km south of the Zgounder Silver Mine and 85km east of the Tizert copper-silver deposit.
Exploration at Tirzzit has involved remote sensing, airborne surveys, stream sediment sampling and geological mapping.
Formal transfer of the licences from Aya is ongoing following the acquisition deal announced in February 2026.
