Kenorland Minerals has completed its initial diamond drill programme at the Western Wabigoon Project in north-western Ontario, Canada, operated under an option agreement with a Centerra Gold subsidiary.

The summer 2026 campaign involved 4,089m of drilling across nine holes, targeting the W2 area, which has previously shown evidence of gold through trenching and shallow drilling.

The focus of the drilling was a 3km-long gold-in-till and heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) anomaly along the Sorry Mac Trend.

Assay results from this drilling programme are anticipated in the third quarter of 2026.

Kenorland reported that the work confirmed the existence of north-north-east and north-east-trending shear zones, believed to intersect within the W2 target.

Various alteration styles and sulphide mineralisation were recorded along the length of the tested area, which remains open to the north and south-west.

Visible gold was noted in drill-hole 26DFDD005 towards the south-west section, indicating further potential for extension of the mineralised system.

Multiple lithologies were encountered, including interbedded mafic volcanic flows with intrusive rocks, and in the northern zone, felsic volcanic rocks alongside a substantial sericitised granodiorite intrusion.

Mineralisation uncovered included a visible-gold bearing quartz vein with sulphides, shear-hosted arsenopyrite-pyrite assemblages and massive sulphide zones.

During the same exploration campaign, 157 HMC samples were collected, and geological mapping confirmed previous exposures of mineralisation in the area.

Geochemical surveys conducted by Kenorland between 2024 and 2025 have identified W2 as the main target within a 19km trend of gold-in-till and HMC anomalies along the Manitou-Dinorwic Deformation Zone.

The geology of the area features north-east and north-north-east structural patterns within volcanic rocks near the Bretz Lake felsic pluton.

Surface sampling by the company has produced gold assay results as high as 7.75 grams per tonne.

Decisions regarding subsequent steps at Western Wabigoon will be made jointly by Kenorland and Centerra Gold following a review of the assay data.

In March this year, Kenorland signed purchase agreements to acquire full ownership of additional mineral claims in northern Ontario.
