Orion Metals has received the preliminary results of the aeromagnetic-radiometric survey conducted on the Killi Killi rare earth project in the Northern Territory, Australia.

Southern Geoscience Consultants was commissioned in June to process and interpret the data, with a primary goal to identify similar Killi Killi REE targets.

The survey also looked for structurally controlled gold mineralisation analogous to the nearby Coyote mine, as the secondary target.

A total of seven REE targets were identified including the three known occurrences and three large zones of potassic alteration.

Orion Metals will complete geological prospecting on the newly identified targets and incorporate them into the drilling programme that will be carried out in early 2012.
