Australian firm Nimrodel Resources has selected Nightingale Africa Partnership to conduct a scoping study at the Taklamakan project in Botswana.

The study, to be carried out in production licence 035/2007, will allow assessment of geological information on coal resource and mine planning and market analysis of beneficiary coal options for commercially available processes to derive products.

The assessment of the study will be combined with the review of the environmental impact evaluation and logistical infrastructure development for regional networks to access local and export markets.

The study is expected to be completed by January 2012.

Nimrodel Resources has also commenced a two-phase drilling programme on the Takatokwane South tenements PL157/2008, PL159/2008, PL160/2008 and PL161/2008, to test the extension of the south-east trending coal seams identified in Nimrodel’s resource drilling programme between May and August this year.
