Contract mining services provider MACA has received letter of intent from Avanco Resources to work on its Antas North copper project in Brazil.
Located in the Carajás Mineral Province in Northern Brazil, the project will be MACA’s second Brazilian operation.
Under the contract, MACA will provide open-pit mining services including drilling and blasting, in addition to loading and hauling at the Antas North.
MACA operations director Geoff Baker said: "The project is MACA’s second with a Perth head quartered company operating in Brazil.
"Just as the opportunity to tender the Antas North project was based on existing relationships, MACA will now leverage off existing infrastructure and relationships developed since we commenced operations in Brazil with Beadell Resources."
Over a period of five years, the project is expected to generate revenues of around $120m and will further diversify the company’s existing commodity base to include copper.
