Adani Mining is part of the Indian company Adani Group.

"The Carmichael coal mine is expected to produce 60 million tonnes of coal annually."

The proposed Carmichael proposed thermal coal mine project is part of the Indian group’s large project to implement the fully autonomous mining operation consisting of mine, railway, and port.

Komatsu said that the mine will generate 10,000 jobs and A$22bn ($16bn) in taxes and royalties over the half-life of the projects.

The Carmichael coal mine is expected to produce 60 million tonnes of coal annually, through open-cut and underground mining methods.

The mine is expected to have an operating life of around 90 years and it is planned to extract four billion tonnes of coal in total.

Adani plans to build a new rail line at the mine, which will connect with the existing Goonyella railway line.
