Norilsk oil spill: Tensions rise as Nornickel disputes extent of damage

On 29 May 2020, a fuel storage tank at Norilsk-Taimyr Energy’s Thermal Power Plant No. 2 – owned by Russian nickel and palladium producer Nornickel – failed, flooding local rivers with an estimated 20,000 tonnes of diesel oil.
