The OTR Tyre Safety & Maintenance Seminar is set to be held on the 23-24 June 2015 at the Hilton Brisbane.

This timely national forum aims to address the ongoing issues of tyre related incidents whilst examining the critical role of tyre management for mine operations. The forum is being developed with the support of TyreSafe Australia.

Improving efficiencies, doing more with less and improving productivity are the mining and resources industry’s current buzzwords during this period of uncertainty. This seminar will provide an opportunity to focus on tyre safety procedures and costs. The main focus of the meeting will examine strategies to improve tyre management systems and processes in order to increase safety and operational efficiencies at the mine site.

Presentations will deliver an update on latest regulations and standards that apply to tyre and wheel/rim maintenance, discuss training and processes, and look at latest technologies and systems. The event format will feature presentations, panel discussions and interactive round tables to analyse existing processes and technologies and discuss how to improve their practical applications.

Topics to be addressed will include:

Regulation & safety standards: working with the industry to tackle safety challenges and reduce risk; examine latest recommendations
Equipment maintenance: tyre, wheel/rim, truck, haul road
Operational control: tyre management practices, mine best practices
The role of tyre management systems in your operations
Qualifications, training and supervision: where the tyre service goes from here?
Risk Management: Sharing experiences: applying rules and safety processes _ what kind of risks are being taken on site? How to avoid accidents on site?
Equipment design
Technologies – GPS, information systems, tyre monitoring systems
Truck loading, payload management, managing heavy vehicle safety
