Weir Minerals Launches Multiflo® RF Dewatering Pump
Weir Minerals announced the expansion of its extensive dewatering solutions portfolio with the global launch...
Understanding the influence of slurry particle size on wear is essential to maximising the life of centrifugal pumps operating in mineral processing plants and for hydrotransport duties. Particle size influences not only the wear rate but also the wear pattern in pumps. Complicating the situation is the different relative wear rate for different pump parts depending on particle size.
A simple slurry wear type (SWT) number based on particle size and size distribution is proposed as a means for categorising slurry pump wear patterns and optimising pump application and material selection.
