Oyu Tolgoi is a major copper and gold mining project in Mongolia’s South Gobi, designed as a long-term, safe, modern, and sustainable operation with a large underground component (about 200 km of tunnels) managed from a state-of-the-art control room. For a new project phase, Rio Tinto required a warehouse that could be delivered quickly and withstand extreme conditions, including high winds and temperatures as low as −40°C.
