A hot dip coating device for applying a metal coating on a moving metal sheet is disclosed in the filed patent (Publication Number: US20240018639A1). The device includes a container for a liquid bath of metal coating material, a guide or sink roll to guide the metal sheet through the bath, and a gas knife above the bath to project wiping gas on the metal coating. The device features at least four supporting rolls placed above the liquid bath to influence the shape of the metal sheet before it enters the bath. These supporting rolls are movable to influence the crossbow of the metal sheet as it moves, and are configured to contact both sides of the metal sheet alternately to exert bending forces. The device also includes a snout for the metal sheet to enter the bath, with the supporting rolls placed within the snout for easy replacement and maintenance.

Furthermore, the hot dip coating device can be adapted for different types of metal coatings, such as zinc aluminum alloy, zinc magnesium alloy, zinc aluminum magnesium alloy, or aluminum silicon alloy. The gas knife in the device is movable in the length direction of the coating device, with a positioning system to adjust its position relative to the moving metal strip. The guide or sink roll in the liquid bath can be vertically and/or horizontally movable for added flexibility during operation.
