Architecture and Engineering Occupations drive mining industry hiring activity

Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Architecture and Engineering Occupations, which accounted for 10% of the total new job postings in Q2 2024 and were up by 41% year-on-year. Second highest were Construction and Extraction Occupations, which accounted for 9% and rise by 132% year-on-year, and third highest were Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations, which were 22% of the new job postings and 47% higher year-on-year.

Top five companies in mining industry accounted for 61% of hiring activity

The highest number of jobs were posted by Cameco with 1,845, followed by American Iron & Metal Co with 544, while the highest increase was at Teck Resources at 1%.
