Mining cables

Large complex machinery in mining industries requires medium-voltage flexible reeling and trailing cables for power supply, which are suitable for operations under extreme conditions.

Flexible trailing cables and flexible auxiliary cables

640/1100v Type 7, 7M, 7S trailing cable, Type 11 trailing cable: Our flexible trailing cables can be used for shuttle cars, coal cutters and similar face equipment, and are manufactured in accordance with BS6708 and NCB 188

640/1100v Types 211, 201, 211, 62, 63, 64: AEI’s flexible trailing cables with galvanised steel pliable wire armouring can be used as mine roadway extension cables and can mechanically protect trailing cables in quarries and for coal face lighting, and are manufactured in accordance with BS6708 and BCS 504.

• 1900/3300v Types 307, 307M, 307S: manufactured in accordance with BS6708. Our flexible trailing cable is used with coal cutters and similar face equipment.
• 1900/3300v Type 331 and 321: manufactured in accordance with BS6708 (BCS 504 and BS6116). AEI’s flexible trailing cables with galvanised steel pliable wire armouring can be used as mine roadway extension cables and mechanically-protected trailing cables in quarries.
• 3800/6600v Type 631: manufactured in accordance with BS6708, BCS 504, our flexible trailing cables with galvanised steel pliable wire armouring are used as mine roadway extension cables and mechanically protected trailing cables in quarries.
• 320/550v Type 506, 512, 518 and 524: manufactured in accordance with BS6708 (BCS 653), AEI’s flexible trailing cables with galvanised steel pliable wire armouring for use as mine roadway extension cables and mechanically protected trailing cables in quarries.

Telephone cables

110v Multipair and multicore telephone cables are manufactured in accordance with BCS 492 and BCS 493. The multipair armoured telephone cables provide communications between all areas underground and with the surface.

Specialist mining cables

Pull wire cables manufactured in accordance with BCS 643 are steel wire-braided cables used for communication and control for haulage and conveyor systems.

Minewinder safety cables manufactured in accordance with BCS 648 are multicore armoured cables with special screening for Minewinder safety and control circuits.

Shot firing cables are manufactured in accordance with BCS 115.

Reeling drum cables

Manufactured in accordance with VDE 0250 Part 814, our reeling drum cables are used with scoops and where dynamic cables are required for reeling drum power applications.

Power distribution cables

Manufactured in accordance with BCS295 Part 1, our power distribution cables are PVC insulated and wire armoured.

Bespoke cable

In addition to the above extensive range, AEI is able to offer cables to VDE 0250 Parts 812 and 813, SANS 1520-1 and IS 14494. We can also manufacture to customer-specific requirements or produce cable designs for novel applications.
