Canadian mining company Blossom Gold, via its fully owned subsidiary Investmin Resources, has submitted a notice of intent (NoI) to the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to commence resource expansion and confirmation drilling at the Rosebud Project in Nevada, US.
The Rosebud Project, located in Pershing County, is set to undergo resource expansion through the construction of 29 drill pads.

This will involve metallurgical sampling and resource drilling within the existing pit shell of the current 70.8 million tonnes of inferred mineral resource.
The company plans to use four drilling rigs to conduct approximately 80,000ft of drilling. Major Drilling has been contracted for this task.
Blossom Gold intends to use an area near the reclaimed #2 portal for support during surface drilling operations.
This phase is designed to enhance the classification of resources within the open pit and identify underground targets for further exploration.

By GlobalDataThe US National Environmental Protection Act allows for such activity under a NoI, provided that planned disturbances do not exceed five acres.
The BLM is expected to complete its review process for the notice within 15–30 days. Due to Rosebud’s strong track record in exploration and reclamation, the company is optimistic about receiving a favourable review.
Metallurgical drilling is set to begin in March 2026, and the surface campaign is due to be completed by June of the same year.
Following this, work on portal #2 is expected to begin in July 2026, with rehabilitation efforts concluding by late October for subsequent underground resource confirmation drilling.
Blossom CEO Rick Winters said: “It is all happening now. Blossom is completing the purchase of a property outside Winnemucca to serve as Project HQ and core processing/storage facility. Geologists are being hired.
“Earthworks contracts are in place. Major Drilling has committed four drill rigs to Rosebud. Discussions are being advanced to bring on Small Mine Development (SMD) as our underground contractor.
“As this programme to expand and upgrade our open-pit resource is under way, environmental impact statement (EIS) level permitting for mine development is ongoing with the assistance of Westland Resources (environmental/permitting), SRK (hydrology/geochemistry), Kappes Cassiday (heap-leach and processing design) and Northern Lights Mining (resource modelling and geotechnical investigations).
“All of this information will feed into Rosebud’s permitting needs and ultimately a feasibility study, with discussions advancing to use GMining Services as our principal feasibility contractor beginning the first quarter of 2027. We seek to set the standard for fast-track permitting and development at Rosebud.”
