Quadra FNX Mining has awarded a €26m contract to Outotec for the design and delivery of a process solution for the new copper-molybdenum concentrator at the Gorda project in Sierra Gorda, northern Chile.
Under the contract, Outotec will deliver Outotec TankCell e300 flotation cells, concentrate and tailings thickners and filters by 2012.

Outotec will also provide services such as installation, commissioning and start-up of the delivered equipment.
Outotec’s CEO Pertti Korhonen said that the TankCell e300 is its most energy-efficient flotation cell, which consumes 20% lower energy per processed ore tonne when compared with other methods.
