CDE Global used its attendance at the International Mining and Machinery exhibition in Kolkata (India), in November, to launch the enhanced iron ore beneficiation offer to the Indian mining market.

The suite of iron ore beneficiation plants being offered by CDE integrates the products and services of many of the leading names in the global mineral processing sector and all were present on the CDE stand in Kolkata to celebrate the new partnership.

“Our Kolkata office and factory is the headquarters of our global ore processing division and will act as the knowledge centre for all of our global ore processing projects,” explains Manish Bhartia, managing director of CDE Asia. “The experience we have developed specifically in the iron ore processing sector over recent years ensures that we are able to offer customers a range of processing systems not previously available in India.”

With a history in the construction sector CDE established a presence in India in 2005 with their factory facility on the outskirts of Kolkata opening in 2007. Following entry into the market the opportunities for developing the product range to cope with the specific requirements of the iron ore processing sector became apparent and this process was led by the India office.

“We now have a range of products which are specifically designed for the iron ore processing sector and the expertise we have developed through our dedicated engineering team in India has ensured we have been able to pioneer the introduction of new methodologies to iron ore processing,” says Manish Bhartia.

The company has completed many iron ore washing plant installations over the past three years in India and count among their customers some of the largest steel producers in India including SAIL and Bhushan Steel.

The addition of full beneficiation capability is intended to allow the company to take their expertise to a wider audience and allow the company to continue to enjoy the growth it has seen since 2007.

“The potential in India is huge and the CDE Asia team is now recognised as the ore processing experts,” says Brendan McGurgan, CDE managing director at their global headquarters in Northern Ireland. “We will continue to support the activity of the India office wholeheartedly while focusing on ensuring continuing growth in our construction and environmental divisions.”

The enhanced beneficiation capability offered by CDE is made possible through the development of several partnerships. Promet Concentrators of Australia have a broad range of experience in the design and execution of many major ore processing projects throughout the world and are now working with CDE on similar projects throughout India.

Also in Kolkata, with CDE, were representatives from the German company Siebtechnik. Their market leading range of jigs will be specified on all of the iron ore processing projects delivered by CDE.

“The reaction to our jigs on the stand at IMME gives us confidence that we will enjoy significant success in India through the new partnership with CDE,” says Frank Spiegelberg of Siebtechnik.

Making up the beneficiation team is Diemme India, specialising in the design and manufacture of filter press systems and with considerable experience in the global mining industry. CDE and Diemme have a long history of working together in the construction and recycling sectors and the recent establishment of a dedicated office in Kolkata will allow Diemme to develop their business in the iron ore processing sector.

“There are significant opportunities for the introduction of our filter press technology to the iron ore market in India,” explains Andrea Pezzi, director of Diemme India. “Through our well established relationship with CDE and the complimentary nature of all the products we can offer the market in India we look forward to continued success in the coming years.”
