ABEM Instrument AB has secured a SEK4m ($650,000) order for geophysical survey equipment from an authority in India.

This order for resistivity and electromagnetic (TEM) systems has significant strategic value for the World Bank Group financed nationwide groundwater resource and quality mappings project in India.

In the initial stage of this multi-year project, the geophysical survey systems will be used to assist the planning of survey methodology for the comprehensive nationwide aquifer-mapping project.

"This deal affirms the success of our new strategy for system solutions based on technology and know-how within the core business and strengths of our ABEM and MALÅ brands. The strategy focuses on three global areas, groundwater mapping, monitoring environmental hazards and infrastructure development, where the brands have garnered market-leader status for ground penetrating radar (GPR), resistivity and near surface seismic surveys" said the company CEO Jonas Moberg.
