The MineWATCH® product range from Davis Derby provides means of equipment monitoring, control and communications in mining and hazardous/gaseous environments, particularly where intrinsic safety is an issue. All equipment designed for underground use is ATEX M1 certified and designed to the European standards of the CENELEC EN50 series.
The need to increase efficiency without jeopardising safety remains a challenge, which can be met by the introduction of cost effective computer based remote control and monitoring systems. Davis Derby supplies a comprehensive range of equipment to solve all mining control and monitoring problems.
The application of computer-based remote control and monitoring systems in mines significantly enhances both safety and productivity by providing mine managers and engineers with the information and confidence they need for the safe and profitable running of the mine.
Davis Derby specialises in environmental monitoring and control systems, including the PC21, Minewide Supervision Control and Data Acquisition (MineSCADA) and battery power supplies for bunkers, pumps, fans and conveyors.
The system is a flexible remote control and monitoring system comprising of three modules, which can be used in combination for a wide variety of applications such as conveyor, pump, fan and compressor control. In addition the PC21 system is suitable for environmental monitoring applications.

The MineWATCH PC21 has three modules, these are the PC 21-1 control module, PC 21-2D display module and the PC 21-2T transmission module.
The MineWATCH general purpose control unit is intended for various applications, including pump control, fan control, auto-loop control, and hydraulic coupling control or compressor control.
The unit is powered from a separate 12V intrinsically safe power supply, a power supply unit with interposing relays can be bolted directly to the general purpose unit as in the case of the conveyor control unit as previously described if required. This power supply can be used to power several PC21 modules via the cluster CAN bus.

We have production engineering skills and surface mount assembly facilities and in circuit automatic test equipment.
We have our own in-house PCB design and manufacturing facility, where we can produce both in short batches and in volume, continuously providing a timely, on-budget service which ranges from component sourcing to automated system test.
Additionally, we offer both conventional and surface mount PCB design and assemble services.
