Forge Group’s subsidiary Cimeco has been awarded new contracts worth $102m for iron ore projects in Australia.

Cimeco will provide mine buildings and support facilities for Rio Tinto’s Hope Downs 4 iron ore expansion project, which will be carried out by the EPCM contractor Kellogg Brown & Root.

The work will include administration and support buildings, explosives storage and handling facilities, mine vehicle servicing facilities, workshop, warehouse and storage buildings with all associated civil works, and electrical and water service reticulation and facilities.

Cimeco will also provide installation work for MCC Mining on the Sino Iron Mine, Cape Preston, located about 100km south of Karratha.

The scope of work will include installation of external buried piping at the mine’s concentrator plant and 14 off agitator tanks at both the mine’s port and concentrator plant.
