Epiroc has signed an agreement to acquire the business of mining aftermarket solutions provider Eventspec Proprietary, located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Eventspec specialises in producing components for drill rigs, mine trucks and loaders, as well as offering rebuilds, repairs and associated services.

The company, which employs approximately 120 people, primarily serves mining companies in South Africa.

Epiroc president and CEO Helena Hedblom said: “This acquisition will be a strong and strategic addition to our manufacturing capabilities and expand our product portfolio of spare parts and related services in the growing and important African region and beyond.

“We look forward to welcoming the capable team at Eventspec to the Epiroc Group.”

This acquisition will be incorporated into the Equipment & Service Business Area and recorded under the Service revenue stream.

The transaction is due to be finalised early in the third quarter of 2026 (Q3 2026), pending standard regulatory approvals.

It does not require disclosure under the EU Market Abuse Regulation.

Epiroc, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, employs roughly 19,000 individuals worldwide and maintains a substantial presence in South Africa.

The company develops equipment for surface and underground applications, and provides services ranging from automation and digitalisation to electrification solutions.

In July 2025, Epiroc secured an order from Sociedad Punta del Cobre (Pucobre) in Chile for a range of underground mine trucks and digital solutions.

This order, valued at Skr235m ($24.6m), is set to improve Pucobre’s productivity, cost-effectiveness and safety.

The contract included the supply of Minetruck MT65 S haulers for Pucobre’s copper mines including Punta del Cobre, Granate and Mantos de Cobre.
