Barminco, the underground mining division of Perenti, has secured a contract valued at A$275m ($192m) to deliver mining services at Barrick Mining's Fourmile Project in Nevada, US.

The agreement spans 45 months, with operations set to commence in July 2026.

The Fourmile site, owned entirely by Barrick, is situated next to the Goldrush Project, where Barminco is already engaged with Nevada Gold Mines, a joint venture between Barrick, which holds a 61.5% stake, and Newmont, owning 38.5%.

Perenti managing director and CEO Vanessa Torres said: “Securing the underground mining contract at Fourmile is an exciting development for our North America team. We look forward to expanding our relationship with Barrick through this project.

“This supports our strategy to expand operations in tier-one mining jurisdictions and continues our disciplined growth into the North American market with both Barminco and Swick.”

Under the newly signed contract, Barminco will initiate development of the twin Bullion Hill portals at the site. This will be part of an extensive 16km underground development, alongside ground support, surface facilities and other mining services.

Perenti Contract Mining president Gabrielle Iwanow said: “The North American market is the largest hard‑rock underground mining market globally, and Fourmile represents another important step in our growth strategy.

“We look forward to bringing Barminco’s focus on safety, quality and productivity to Fourmile, and to supporting Barrick as they advance this important project.”

In May 2026, Barminco secured a four-year contract from Bellevue Gold valued at A$850m to provide underground mining services for its project in Western Australia. There is also an option to extend the contract for an extra year.
