Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) has released version 7 of Avizo Fire, a 3D visualization and analysis software for digital rock physics and core analysis.

Visualization Sciences Group (VSG) has released version 7 of Avizo Fire, a 3D visualization and analysis software for digital rock physics and core analysis.

The new version offers new tools and enhanced capabilities for exploring, analysing and understanding complex materials and object structures. Version 7 also introduces several automated workflows to help users perform complex analytical processes in a short time.

Avizo Fire 7 has new features, including image processing commands and advanced measurement tools that increase the quantitative analysis capabilities of image-based data.

The new module can perform both simulation of a permeability experiment, and calculate the intrinsic permeability tensor of a rock sample. The software is also designed to allow accurate computation of absolute permeability - even on very small samples at microor nanoscopic scale - without complex physical experiments.
