MGX Minerals has bought a full-scale pilot plant mill from CMC Metals on a trial basis for its Driftwood Creek magnesium project located in the Brisco-Driftwood mining district of southeastern British Columbia in Canada.

The mill equipment includes a jaw crusher, ball mill, flotation cells, cyclone dewatering equipment, as well as a tailings filtration and thickener system.

At present, the mill is placed on care and maintenance in the Yukon.

"The bulk sample material is expected to arrive and be made available soon."

A contractor has been dispatched by MGX to transport all equipment, including five tractor trailers to the stock pile location of its recently completed bulk sample.

The bulk sample material is expected to arrive and be made available soon.

The mill, which was earlier used to process polymetallic concentrate, is proposed to be used to process bulk sample material through reverse flotation to produce a magnesite tailing and byproduct silica sand float.

MGX Minerals president and CEO Jared Lazerson said: "MGX looks forward to commencing the pilot plant phase at Driftwood Creek and to begin producing representative and potentially saleable material."

The company has conducted a phase I and phase II drill programme at Driftwood Creek and has also completed a 100t bulk sample programme.

In January this year, MGX received a 20-year mining lease for the project from the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Province of British Columbia.

The company acquired the project in July 2014 and has completed two diamond drill programmes, property wide sampling and re-analysis of historic drill core to date.
