The US’s mining industry registered a 1.3% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.94% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.2% share in February 2022, recording a flat growth over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s mining industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry in February 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.67% in February 2022, registering a 16.67% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 15.83% share, a decrease of 38.71% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 14.17%, registering a 30.77% rise from January 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.67%, down 17.65% over the previous month.
Top five mining companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 29.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
Reliance Steel & Aluminum posted 23 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Aditya Birla Management Corp with 16 jobs and a 23.08% growth. Nucor with 15 IT jobs and Freeport-McMoRan with 9 jobs, recorded a 7.14% growth and a 35.71% decrease, respectively, while RTI International Metals recorded a decline of 42.86% with 8 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.33%, up by 1.45% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.67% share, registered a decline of 8.57% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15% share, up 20% over January 2022.
