The longitudinal stringers are connected to the inner surface of the circumferential sections, forming a skeletal framework for attaching the thin-walled skin sections. These skin sections are mounted fixedly and air-tightly to the stringers, creating tension between them when in use.

Furthermore, the patent claims variations in the design, such as hollow longitudinal stringers or circumferential sections, additional strengthening elements for the skin sections, and the use of hot-rolled steel strip for construction. The tube sections can be part of an evacuated tube transport system, where the pressure inside the tube is less than 0.1 bar.
