A recently granted patent (Publication Number: US11872614B2) discloses an emulsion flow optimization method designed to suppress vibration in a cold continuous rolling mill. The method involves collecting device feature parameters of the rolling mill, such as the radius and surface velocity of the working rolls, roughness coefficients, and distances between rolling stands. Key rolling process parameters of the strip, including thickness, width, speed, temperature, deformation resistance, and tension, are also collected. These parameters are used to define the process parameters for optimizing emulsion flow, including critical film thickness values, friction coefficients, rolling reduction amounts, and rates.

Furthermore, the patented method includes steps for calculating neutral angles, outlet temperatures, dynamic viscosity of the emulsion, and oil film thickness between roll gaps. The influence coefficient of nozzle shape and spraying angle is set at 0.8 to optimize the emulsion flow and reduce vibration in the cold continuous rolling mill. By utilizing these calculated parameters and coefficients, the method aims to enhance the efficiency and stability of the rolling process, ultimately improving the quality of the rolled strips while minimizing vibration levels in the mill. This innovative approach to emulsion flow optimization in cold rolling mills showcases a detailed and systematic method to address vibration issues, potentially leading to increased productivity and quality in the manufacturing process.
