The US’s mining industry registered a 9.1% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 14.38% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the mining industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s mining industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.46% in August 2021, registering a 43.59% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.49% share, an increase of 21.05% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.86%, registering a 250% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.32%, down 8.33% over the previous month.
Top five mining companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 63.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s mining industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
RTI International Metals posted 16 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Tronox with 12 jobs and an 1100% growth. Freeport-McMoRan with 8 IT jobs and Nucor with 7 jobs, recorded a 20% decline and a 250% flat growth, respectively, while En+ Group recorded an increase of 20% with 6 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.69%, up by 10.91% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 33.9% share, registered an increase of 8.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.41% share, up 21.43% over July 2021.
