The new Dragflow Amphibious Dredge (DRM85 / 160E22), created by Dragflow specialists, was sold by our Chilean distributor Jacol to an important mining company in the North of Chile, a supplier of plant nutrients, Iodine, Lithium and industrial chemicals. The machine is going to work in a tailing pond near a mine in the Atacama Desert.
The purpose of this project is to pump back to the mine and to reprocess the old tailings discharged for many years.
Since the water level in these ponds could be variable and usually less than 0.5m, the customer decided to go for an Amphibious Dredge.
This new type of Dragflow Dredge can easily work in a variety of conditions, even when the water level is at a minimum.
With the two lateral tracked floaters, it can move on the ground, similar to a standard earth moving machine, and the additional central floaters allow it to float on the water surface with high stability like standard Dragflow dredges.
In addition, the machine can work in halfway conditions like muddy and soft soils, shallow waters and swamps.
The extreme mobility in any kind of wetland and the full buoyancy, allows the Dredge to reach the most remote location otherwise impossible to get with any other equipment.
The new Dragflow Amphibious Dredge (DRM85 / 160E22) is not just an excavator machine able to work also in the water. It is also an ideal floating dredge suitable for working on any type of soil.
Dragflow specialists created an elegant machine, with a sophisticated design, to ensure comfort and optimal management of the operations. The Dredge is equipped with:
- Diesel engine (260kW) running the hydraulic power pack
- Dredging unit composed by Dragflow HY85/160 plus two cutters EXHY20
- Jet Ring system with high-pressure water jets helping the pump in the driest dredging conditions
