The XXVI International Mineral Processing Congress 2012 was held 24-28 September 2012 in New Delhi, India.

The theme for this global event was ‘Innovative Processing for Sustainable Growth’ and more than 1,500 visitors from many different countries attended. The participation mix was from the global mining industry as well as researchers and consultants working with various mining technologies.

According to Nilesh Sinkar, performance applications manager for India and Middle East the mining institutes and mining authorities were keen to learn more about the advance development in the mining sector and in the field of beneficiation processes.

AkzoNobel was represented by BU Surface Chemistry and BU Functional Chemicals who participated as exhibitors at the congress. One of the main aims for the team at this year’s event was to highlight the development of our collectors used to enhance the performance in iron and phosphate ore flotation.

"I really think the AkzoNobel stall received good response from visitors," said Mr Sinkar. "We wanted to create an awareness among the stakeholders of the Mining industry in India on our products, with emphasis on globally accepted technology of chemical beneficiation."
