Troilus enters long-term copper-gold offtake agreement with Aurubis

This MoA builds on indicative offtake terms announced in June, advancing Troilus’ tie-up with Aurubis to a more formal stage.

Canadian miner Troilus Gold has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Aurubis, a German copper smelter and recycler, for the long-term offtake of copper-gold concentrate from the Troilus Project in north-central Québec.

This MoA builds on the indicative offtake terms announced this June, advancing Troilus’ partnership with Aurubis to a more formal stage.

The agreement establishes the framework for long-term concentrate supply and strengthens the alignment between the two companies as Troilus advances toward project financing and development.

The offtake agreement builds on the positive feasibility results of the Troilus Project, which is estimated to produce around 75,000 tonnes per annum of copper-gold concentrate.

The MoA establishes commercial terms for a significant portion of Troilus’ concentrate to be delivered to Aurubis and is advancing in parallel with the company’s broader debt financing package of up to $700m (C$963.35m), announced in March 2025.

The Canadian company said that the move outlines its position as a future North American supplier to European geographies, and places Troilus as a project of “strategic importance” to Canada, Québec and international partners.

The MoA was executed during the Government of Canada’s Critical Minerals Mission to Germany, attended by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson, and other officials.

Troilus Gold CEO Justin Reid said: “Signing this agreement with Aurubis during Canada’s Critical Minerals Mission to Germany is highly significant for Troilus. It underscores the international importance of our project, strengthens Canada–Europe cooperation on critical minerals and provides a clear step toward completing the financing required to advance construction.”

Aurubis CEO Toralf Haag noted: “This partnership with Troilus Gold is an important step in reinforcing our international raw material sourcing strategy. With high-quality copper concentrates from Canada, we are enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of our portfolio while building a long-term, reliable partnership.”
