Questcorp Mining and Riverside Resources have commenced the Phase 2 exploration programme at the La Union Project located in Sonora, Mexico.

This advancement follows the completion of a 12-hole Phase 1 drill programme announced in January 2026, which yielded significant findings at both the Union Mine and Luis Hill.

The Union Mine revealed a high-grade 30m chip-channel interval with 20.2g/t gold and 226g/t silver, while Luis Hill presented a new sediment-hosted gold discovery with a 42m section grading 0.3g/t gold.

These results have prompted further investigation across four main target areas, involving geological mapping, geochemistry, geophysics, and structural analysis to prepare for subsequent drilling phases.

Key objectives for Phase 2 include refining current drill targets and generating new ones.

Efforts will focus on sediment-hosted gold (SHGD) targets identified during Phase 1, continued sampling at the Union Mine, and exploring lead and zinc anomalies at Famosa North.

Structural mapping will also be conducted in the northern part of the property with assistance from external consultants.

Additionally, exploration continues at Luis Hill where sediment-hosted rocks indicate a new style of Carlin-like mineralisation.

An expanded aeromagnetic drone survey will run alongside these activities to enhance geological interpretation and refine drill targets ahead of planned summer drilling in 2026.

The formal consolidation of the Famosa mineral concessions into Riverside’s land package was announced in March 2026, enhancing their district-scale land position and reinforcing plans for Phase 2 exploration as mineralisation trends continue into strategic target areas.

The La Union Project encompasses multiple district-scale targets with three distinct mineralisation styles, including carbonate replacement deposit (CRD), sediment-hosted gold similar to Carlin-style systems, and structurally controlled gold mineralisation.

With necessary permits secured and contractors engaged, Questcorp Mining is positioned to proceed towards its next fully funded drilling phase.

Questcorp Mining president and CEO Saf Dhillon said: “The commencement of our Phase 2 programme marks an important step in advancing the La Union Project. With a fully funded programme now underway, we are focused on systematically refining existing targets while expanding our pipeline of new opportunities across the district.

“The combination of CRD-style mineralisation and the emerging sediment-hosted gold potential at Luis Hill continues to demonstrate the scale and versatility of the project. We look forward to building on these results as we advance toward the next phase of drilling.”
