Canada-based Nevada Sunrise Gold has received drilling permits to explore lithium brines on the Clayton Northeast Project (Clayton NE) and the Gemini Project in the Esmeralda county, Nevada, US.

Up to six exploration drill hole locations have been approved at Clayton NE, with a further ten at Gemini by the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

At each project, the company plans to drill up to three to four vertical holes later this year as an initial test to depths ranging from 300m to 600m.

Clayton NE is located in the Clayton Valley adjacent to the eastern boundary of the Albemarle-operated Silver Peak lithium mine, comprising 50 unpatented placer claims totaling 405ha.

A 1977 USGS drill hole (CV-5) located on Clayton was drilled 479ft deep and encountered lithium values in ground water ranging from 24 parts per million to 110ppm lithium.
