Metals Creek Resources has reported results from bottle roll cyanide extraction test work conducted on samples from the Squid East project in the White Gold district, Yukon, US.

The results indicated an average of 92% gold recovery from drill core and trench samples at the Squid East project and also defined a new gold-silver system, associated with a strong gold plus pathfinder soil anomaly.

The metallurgical testing program aimed to assess the leaching characteristics of the weathered gold bearing material intersected in both the drilling and trenching programs, which were completed last summer.

Gold recoveries for the six samples collected from the main trench and two drill holes ranged from 83.8% to 95.7% and averaged 92% overall, while gold grades ranged from 0.71grams per ton (g/t) of gold to 9.99g/t of gold.

The new discovery is located in the un-glaciated portion of the west-central Yukon terrain, which is near to an existing placer mine and is accessible.

The six samples were submitted for fire assay and bottle roll cyanide analysis.

Metals Creeks president and CEO Alexander Stares said: "Positive results from the first ever drill program combined with the preliminary bottle roll test work indicates that the weathered material appears amenable to heap leach extraction."

The gold assays have been analysed using a standard fire assay with an atomic absorption finish while the six split core and trench samples were transferred to Inspectorate Exploration & Mining Services.
