Five largest gold mines in Peru in 2021

Here are the five largest gold mines by production in Peru, according to GlobalData’s mining database.

1. Cuajone Mine

The Cuajone Mine is a surface mine located in Moquegua. It is owned by Grupo Mexico Sde CV and produced an estimated 294.2 Thousand Ounces of gold in 2021.

2. Yanacocha Mine

Located in Cajamarca, the Yanacocha Mine is owned by Newmont. The surface mine produced an estimated 258.5 Thousand Ounces of gold in 2021. The mine will operate until 2040.

3. Florencia and Santa Rosa Mine

The Florencia and Santa Rosa Mine is located in Moquegua. It is owned by Aruntani SAC and produced an estimated 204.1 Thousand Ounces of gold in 2021.

4. Retamas Mine

The Retamas Mine, owned by Minera Aurifera Retamas, is an underground mine located in La Libertad. The mine produced an estimated 165.7 Thousand Ounces of gold in 2021.

5. Inmaculada Mine

Owned by Hochschild Mining, the Inmaculada Mine is an underground mine located in Cusco. It produced an estimated 164.6 Thousand Ounces of gold in 2021. The mine will operate until 2026.
