Troubadour Resources has reported the interception of target mineralisation near the surface during phase one of its multiple-stage drilling initiative at the Senneville Gold-Silver-Copper property in Quebec, Canada.

The Senneville property encompasses 212 mineral claims covering roughly 119.5km² in the Val d’Or mining camp.

Prospects at the site include orogenic gold and polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide-style mineralisation.

The recent campaign at Senneville involved seven drill-holes covering a total of approximately 1,000m, with all holes reaching mineralised intervals.

Particularly significant results were recorded for drill-holes SV-25-002, SV-25-007, SV-25-006 and SV-25-003, with the longest mineralisation intervals reaching up to 57.8m.

The mineralisation primarily comprises quartz carbonate veins and sulphides within sheared lithological terrains.

Drill-hole SV-25-002 began intercepting mineralisation at a depth of 20.14m and extended for 57.8m, while SV-25-007 encountered 50.6m of mineralisation, starting at 2.65m.

Additional notable findings include 44.6m and 39m intercepted by SV-25-006 and SV-25-003, respectively.

The phase one drilling campaign concentrated on the Gustav Cere target area, utilising data from recent induced polarisation surveys.

The mineralisation at Senneville is found in quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veins that share characteristics with those in neighbouring Novador deposits.

Troubadour Resources’ larger drilling scheme aims to complete 75 drill-holes across several prime target areas, supported by geological mapping, geophysics, geochemical surveys and historical data.

The multi-phase drilling initiative targets six key areas – Contact, Golden Island Fault, Gustav Cere, Milieu Lake Batholite, Val Saint George and Vert Lake.

Past exploration efforts in the region have identified gold-bearing quartz veins along the Senneville Komatiite footwall.

Established in 1923, the Val-d’Or gold camp located within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt is a crucial mining centre known for its extraction of gold, copper, zinc, lead and lithium.

Notable operations in the area include the Sigma mine, which has been active since 1935, and the Louricourt mine, which began production in 1994.

The Senneville project is situated nearby, close to significant deposits such as Novador and Beaufor, with reported gold resources of 2.04 million ounces (moz) and more than 1.1moz, respectively.
