Canada-based Orefinders Resources has recruited two contractors to assist in processing phase 1 of the Mirado Stockpile project, 35km south-east of the gold mining town of Kirkland Lake in north-eastern Ontario.
SCR Mining and Tunneling has been selected to act as mining contractor for the stockpiles.
The company will be responsible for the on-site crushing of material between 4in to 8in, which is needed for transport and within specifications requested by the Westwood Mill.
It will also truck the stockpiles to the mill. SCR Mining and Tunneling has been in operation since 1994.
Orefinders has also engaged Soutex to act as the metallurgical consultants on phase 1's stockpile processing.
Earlier, Soutex worked with the team at Westwood on previous engagements and will now work with Orefinders and Westwood to ensure a smooth delivery of the stockpile.
The company will also take responsibility for increasing gold recovery from Orefinders' stockpile.
Phase 1 of the Mirado Stockpile project is a resource that was blasted and mined from the open-pit mine during its production during 1980.
Under the toll milling agreement announced this month, Orefinders will deliver a minimum 25,000t of resource from the Mirado to the Westwood Gold Mine for processing, as well as gold extraction. As part of this phase, the former mine site will be cleaned-up.
The focus of the Mirado project comprises 12 contiguous claims, with surface and mining rights, owned 100% by Orefinders.
