South Africa’s Solidarity union said it has signed a wage agreement to end its strike at a mine owned by Northam Platinum.
The union has agreed to an 8.5% increase in wages and another 8.5% increase in housing subsidies.
The agreement will be implemented retrospectively from 1 July 2010.
Meanwhile, the National Union of Mineworkers members continued its strike at the company’s Zondereinde mine.
The union last week rejected the company’s 9% wage increase proposal against a demand of 15% increase.
