Xstrata said workers at its Queensland coal mine are on strike over pay issues.

More than 200 workers at the Collinsville mine, which is operated by Thiess, a unit of Leighton Holdings, have been on strike since last Tuesday.

Xstrata spokesperson James Rickards said if the strike continues the company may have to declare force majeure, according to Reuters.

The mine, which is also owned by Sumitomo Corp and Itochu Corp, produces coking coal and thermal coal and has an output of six million tons annually.
