The White Dam Gold Mine project has been commissioned at a cost of A$14m in South Australia.
The project is a joint venture between gold and copper developer Exco Resources and Russian gold producer Polymetals Group.
It includes an open pit mine, dump/heap leach, gold extraction plant and associated infrastructure, according to ABC.
The mine is designed to have a short life, producing a total of 120,000oz of gold at a rate of 50,000oz a year.
