Vancouver-based miner Goldcorp said its fourth-quarter revenue for 2009 is up 28% on the previous year, thanks to higher gold prices.

The company’s revenue for the quarter was posted at $778.3m on gold sales of 573,100oz.

Goldcorp’s adjusted net earnings for the last quarter stood at $182.7m.

Its revenue for 2009 was posted at $2.7bn on gold sales of 2.3 million ounces, up 13% from 2008.

Goldcorp said it expects to increase its output by almost 50% over the next five years to nearly 3.8 million ounces by 2014.

The company produced 2.42 million ounces in 2009 and has forecast output of about 2.6 million ounces of gold for 2010.
