Canada’s Crocodile Gold has begun mining work at two mines located in the Northern Territory, Australia, after the transfer of tenements to the company.

Open pit mining work at the Chinese South pit has been started by the company through G&K Akers Contractor of Howard Springs Darwin.

At the Brocks Creek underground mine, the company has begun underground mining using contractors from Darwin.

Ore will be transported between the mines and the Union Reefs mill by Gulf Transport of Darwin to help stockpile ore this month and commence milling at the Union Reefs mill early next month.

The company intends to generate more than 100,000oz of gold next year and more than 200,000oz in 2011.
