Tournigan Energy has awarded a contract to US-based Tetra Tech for drafting an NI 43-101 compliant prefeasibility study of the Kuriskova uranium deposit located in Eastern Slovakia.
The study will integrate metallurgical testing of representative Kuriskova samples to optimise molybdenum and uranium recovery as a by-product.
The Canadian uranium exploration company has commenced a 5,000m drill programme as part of the study.
The initial drill programme will help outline subsequent drilling to be carried out this year and early next year.
The study’s results will give an insight into the mine proposal, infrastructure needs and processing plant flow-sheet design for the deposit.
It will also be critical for ascertaining reserves, project economics, capital and operating costs, and will tackle the environmental and permitting parts of the project.
