The National Mining Federation’s two-day strike has affected Compania de Minas Buenaventura’s Orcopampa and Uchucchacua mining units.

The Peruvian precious metals mining company’s Orcopampa mine has suspended all mining work, however, metallurgical activities including the treatment of previously prepared ore stockpiles will persist.

Both mining and plant operations have been halted at the Uchucchacua mine.

Mining activity is expected to restart after the strike is over.

Buenaventura has controlling stakes in four mining companies as well as a minority stake in several other mining companies in Peru.
