Indian state-run utility NTPC has signed a joint venture deal with state-run Coal India for development of the Brahmini and Chichro Patsimal coal mining blocks located in eastern India.
The two mines will supply coal to NTPC’s Farakka and Kahalgaon projects, reports Reuters.
After satisfying the coal requirements of NTPC’s projects, the joint venture may also establish an integrated thermal power station, NTPC said.
