Junior resource company Habanero Resources has purchased 5,339ha of British Columbia’s Barkerville gold camp, adjoining International Wayside gold mine property.
101 creeks in the Barkerville camp have reported placer gold production, the company said.
The area’s gold output totals over 3.8 million ounces, including 1.23 million ounces from lode mining and 2.64 million ounces from placer mining.
International Wayside reported drill results from the Barkerville area drill programme of 84.4m of 16.5g/t gold, including 37.5m of 36.1g/t of gold.
Habanero president Jason Gigliotti said that in addition to acquiring this new prospect the company will also initiate a work programme for its 100%-owned Yukon gold prospect.
