Cleveland Mining has bought the Premier, Bau and Guarinhos mining projects in the state of Goias in central Brazil.

Premier is a brownfields gold project comprising 15 concessions that encompass 15,000ha.

Out of the 15 concessions, 14 are subject to exploration licenses and one has mining authorisation.

From 1978 to 1984, Metais de Goias SA found commercial gold quantities at Premier and extracted roughly 75,000t at 2.5g/t (nearly 5,800oz) from a tiny open pit operation.

The Bau project is a shallow Garimpeiro (nearly 50,000t) on one part of an exposed vein, with sampling ranging from 241 to 329g/t.

The surface depicted 300m-wide chains of stacked quartz veins striking for about 1km.

Guarinhos is a greenfields site, situated in the Guarinhos greenstone belt with a long history of artisanal gold mining. The Guarinhos belt includes the Cariamar gold project, which is being developed by Yamana Gold.
