Gold producer DRDGOLD has signed a two-year wage settlement for its Crown, ERPM and Blyvoor operations in South Africa with workers union UASA.

Employees in the UASA recognition unit at Blyvoor will receive a 6.5% wage raise while workers at Crown will get a 6% price rise and ERPM workers will get a 4% increase.

The National Union of Mineworkers (Num) has rejected the increases as well as a profit-linked incentive scheme offered. Strike action is due to begin.

The Blyvoor increase will be backdated to 1 July while the Crown and ERPM hikes are due to become effective from 1 October.
