Mineral exploration firm Douglas Lake Minerals has begun the application process to obtain a Tanzanian mining licence for its Mkuvia alluvial gold project.

The process involves defining a Tanzanian-compliant resource estimate, feasibility study and environmental impact assessment (EIA).

The Mkuvia alluvial gold project includes four prospecting licences, encompassing a total area of 380km².

The company has contracted Kokanee Placer to produce a feasibility study and the EIA, which will be produced in consultation with a representative from the School of Environmental Science and Technology at Ardhi University.

CRB Attorneys, a firm that specialised in mining law, will oversee and guide the process of obtaining the licence.
