Ausenco has signed an engineering, procurement and construction management services contract to restart development of the Martable gold and silver project in Indonesia’s North Sumatra.

Ausenco had been working at the site until work was halted when OZ Minerals sold the project to China Sci-Tech Holdings for A$269m.

The Martabe project is expected to produce about 250,000oz of gold and three million ounces of silver in the early years of the mine’s life.

G-Resources will manage the project.
