Matsa Resources has signed an agreement giving Focus Minerals the right to treat ore from the North Scotia gold deposit within its Norseman project in Western Australia.

Under the agreement, Matsa will mine and haul its ore to the Focus Minerals plant near Coolgardie where it will be treated in scheduled campaigns starting in February 2010.

Matsa will then deliver gold within five days of the completion of the processing cycle, Matsa said.

The companies have also agreed to jointly monitor the entire treatment process, including reconciliation of output.

Focus will also receive A$200,000-worth of Matsa shares.

The company plans to complete mining studies by the end of this year and start mining activities by early 2010.

The project’s scoping study estimates the mine production between 21,000oz and 26,300oz of gold from 90,000t to 120,000t of ore at about 6.8 g/t to 7.2 g/t.
